Just because Master Cheif is still alive, that doesn't mean that they have to make a game about him.
They could make books about him like they have been.
And there could be a new main character.
Or they could make a game about that stupid elite that follows you in the 3rd game.

I didnt think that halo 2 or 3 were nearly as good as the original Halo (Campaign mode anyway)

I agree. The original Halo was the best for it's campaign.

*smack!*
No it is not, while yes the premise is similar, Halo was never based off of ringworld. Bungie wasn't even aware of the book untill after Halo was released, and I've read ringworld, and so far the only similarity has been the obvious bit. mother f*()()(()())(() Rings. Halo was originaly about a hollowed out planet, but it morphed into the ring design.

ok... i guess that makes since i would've made it a ring to... because hollowed out planet doesn't really go with the games title

Halo 1 was also going to be a RTS.
:D
They had so much fun playing around with the 'trooper' that they decided to just make it an FPS.

I'll be honest... halo 3's campaign story line did suck and was kind of on the short side, but its multiplayer definately makes up for it. But...COD 4 and Halo 3 are two total different games. One is a realistic war type game, and the other is a sci fi type. Not really any room to compare since theyre not really in the same genre.

Anyways, what i think they need to work on for Halo 4 would be their map editing. They should implement something like counterstrike had and allow the user to create their own wall textures and buildings and of course if you want something in the air, allow you to select a "float" option for the object.
