best fw for a psp 1000

hey guys lonngggg TIME i havent been here.
so im going to get a new psp. its a 1000 and i want to do stuff with it but i forgot how to.
just wondering whats the best stable firmware to get but not the new 5.xx something.
all i want to do it play emus again.
i think i have the pandora somewhere in my house.
i also want to play umd's without using devhook. i know i did it before but i forgot how to.

Holy crap haha. The last M33 out is 5.00 M33 I think, I'm using it and it works just fine.
