Okay, so I ripped all three FF7 disks, and I had a few questions:

It still doesn't load. I ran the configution in recovery mode, and it still gets a "80000004" error. Does it not work with multi-disc games?

It does work with multi disc games; however, when you rip the second disc/ third/ fourth w/e I think you need to use the game ID (SLUS00923 or w/e the code is) from the first disc.

Nah, I figured it out. I used an image file of a game I got off of a P2P program, and I thought it was the one I ripped. So I re-converted it using the one I ripped and all is well. Thanks for this tutorial! :P

I believe I am going to take the sticky off of this tutorial. If anybody has anything to say I am open to suggestions.

This is most definitely a tutorial... true that there is discussion here as well, but this is a tutorial that I had written that uses processes that are a little older now. As long as someone can come up with a good reason to keep it a sticky then I think it is best for the site to un-sticky it.

This tutorial did help me. I couldn't figure out what to do with the ISOs and what not, and this helped me figure out how to do it.

Thanks! =)

Well I guess I will leave this tutorial a sticky for now.

You guys should understand that there are better ways to do this now though. This is a good way to get your feet wet but you'd probably be interested in compressing them?... yea? I have Resident Evil 3 Nemesis, Metal Gear Solid VR Missions, and Crash Bandicoot 2 on a 1gb stick right now.

There are also ways to make the icon look how you want it to look in the psp menu. You don't even need the Hot Shots Golf 2 game anymore to do this stuff. There are some neat things you can do, so just look into them. Perhaps I will update my tutorial at some later time to accommodate those methods.

How many games are possible to have on a 1 gb stick?

I love having my emulators, but I would really like to have a couple PS1 games as well.

Does the PSP accept 2gb cards? And if I decide to get a better card, do I only need to transfer my game files (emulators and ISOs) over to the card?

Thanks in advance,

The PSP accepts what ever Sony (its founder) or Sandisk provides for it. The largest I know of is an
8GB memory stick which is currently not out. Or it was a HD, cant remember.
Yes you need to transfer them. It should say that in this tutorial.
For the size, it depends on what game it is. Some are infact sometimes bigger than 2 gig, most are not.
Some are even as small as 100 MB. Always check the sizes. You should get a good 2gig memstick from best buy.
If its cheap at best buy, go to future shop, and get them to match the price (incase its bigger or smaller at future shop).

Mailas made some points that I will address.

1. Currently the largest memory stick is the 4gb memory stick. The cheapest (real) memory sticks that I have seen were $99 last I checked at www.newegg.com.

2. About copying the game files over. I will look in the tutorial about transferring the files but I think that SuperXero was talking about transferring his homebrew from his 1gb stick to another stick (which doesn't have to do with this tutorial).

3. Regarding where to get a 2gb card. At best buy the "Sandisk Gaming 2gb card" was $110.00 last I checked. On www.newegg.com you can get a 4gb card (and have it shipped) for lower than that price.

There is also a 4gb hard drive that I would not recommend b/c it is bulky and many homebrew things do not work when they are run from it b/c it is slower than the memory stick pro duos. There is also an 8gb memory card that has yet to come on the market that will be available later this year, just keep your eyes peeled. Personally, I am going to wait until the 8gb comes out and then snag a cheaper 4gb card b/c that should lower prices.

2GB sticks are really cheap on eBay. I got one for about $25.

Just giving the heads up.

It is most likely very fake as well lol.

I was thinking about buying a fake 4gb off of ebay... and I think I am going to. If some homebrew doesn't work b/c of the slower read/write speed then I will just use it for a ton of music. No sense in buying an ipod nano if you have a psp and a cheap 4gb stick.

(you can get cheap 4gb sticks as well) Wait til the 8gb comes out though, and 4gb will get even cheaper on ebay ;)
