Hey, guys. I'm installing Windows 7 onto my PC's main partition and I want to install everything back and more. What kinds of suggestions do you guys have for me to install? One thing that I'm finally going to install is the PSP SDK for an extension of my 'secret project.'
8)
What are your suggestions?

Depends what your going to use it for. When I first installed w7 all I installed was avast, malwarebytes, firefox w/ abp, utorrent, and klite codec pack. Then installed stuff as I needed ^_^ Rainmeter is pretty sweet too, especially if you have a nice 1080p like 20" monitor its a necessity ;)

Already was using Ubuntu. In fact, I used it to help me backup my stuff before installing 7.
Got it finally installed and about half of my list that I posted reinstalled. :)
I hate the new taskbar, but I found a great tutorial for setting up the Quick Launch bar to be visible like it was in Vista or XP and making the bar look more like it did in Vista. I'll also spend all day tomorrow putting my backup files back onto my system and actually organizing them.
Ubuntu is nice and all, but there are a lot of things that just annoy me about how it works. Besides, as I've seen, all of the 'features' that Ubuntu has, Windows 7 has either a better or equivalent.

Man... What the heck? I've had sooo many issues with my computer since I installed 7. I've had to revert back a few times with system restore to fix it and if I have any more issues, then I'm going back. I had so many articles that I was gonna post on here, but now I have to go back through my RSS feeds.

That's what happens when you install 7. Which is why I don't have it.

Seriously, I've had it working for a total of 2 hours since I first installed it on Friday. .......
I've never been so angry in my life. I've tried restoring it to earlier points a few times and now it won't even detect the hard drive. :O I'm extremely mad right now. How can I reinstall windows if the installation disc won't detect the hard drive anymore??

Heh that's weird, what is wrong with it? I installed 7 to my PC almost a year ago and it was a very smooth transition.

No clue. I keep restoring it and it uses the automatic update and eventually needs to be restarted for random reasons such as me leaving or installing something new, and it just doesn't turn back on. I think it's the automatic updates, because that's really all that I've changed in regards to the system itself. Anyone know of anything I can do to set the computer up to check for problems once I get my computer working again? I would hate to finally get it restored just so it to go back to doing what it's doing.
I think I'll turn of automatic updates... I hope that helps.

You know vista and 7 "mostly" automatically restart if a major problem occurs to avoid damage... so try this,

Right Click "my computer", and select Properties.
Open "Advanced System Settings."
If prompted, click on "continue".
Open the "Advanced" tab.
Under "Startup and Recovery" click on "Settings"
Uncheck "Automatically Restart".

Doesn't do much but it might just give you enough time to figure out what went wrong instead of your pc restarting....

I'll check that out, Da Cool Man. Thanks for the tip. :)

Alright, getting a new hard drive. I've figured out that my hard drive is ruined. How? I dunno. But, it is. :(
I'm upgrading from an 80Gb to a 320Gb.
One of the first things that I'll start doing is finishing up my secret project. Bum bum bum!

Whoa! Triple post! :(
Just a quick update, I got a new 320Gb hard drive and I'm working hard to load it full of all the software that I'll ever need. :D
Any final suggestions would be great!
