Its called Jolicloud. It is a ubuntu based netbook OS. I tried it in a VM and looks pretty good but it runs slow in a VM. So I could not do a real test. I am going to put it on my Asus Eee PC 900HD when it gets here in about 3 days. I think it has a XBMC feel to it lol.

Update: Install all updates and then Guest additions if you are using Virtualbox. Will run at full speed at that point.

If it solves alot of ubuntu netbook remixes driver issues i might consider putting it on my acer.

I think I'm going to try this out, been having too many problems gettin mac os x running on my apsire one right (keyboard issues) so I might just format the extra partition and throw this on it, either that or something to run xbmc.

yea, it is quite a pain on netbooks :/

Bleh, tried running Jolicloud prefinal, downloaded the iso and created the usb drive and all that and when I stick it in my netbook, and try to run any of the options it just says invalid kernal or something. Wow, how lame. STD linux it is for now till Chrome OS.

I got it on my eee pc just fine with the jolicloud usb creator. Im liking it so far. And yeah it has most netbook video drivers installed by default.

@ light_alistor
You have to buy a different wifi card to get wireless working, I forgot what kind but I can go pull it out of my netbook real quick if you want, I got it off ebay for like $15 and had wireless working fine, just couldn't really use my keyboard.

And I guess I have to download the image from somewhere else or something, I tried creating the usb drive on two different computers with two different usb drives (about 5 tries in all) and every time it said like incorrect kernal and wouldn't do anything. Bah, ubuntu sucks!

I finally got this thing workin and I think it's preety boring. Feels like a iphone-esque interface with a small library of simple apps to download (mostly just like internet browsers, chat clients, etc). I think I'm just going to install xubuntu instead since jolicloud feels very elementary.

It's still all ubuntu, jolicloud was built on ubuntu netbook edition. And isn't xubuntu just a lightweight version of ubuntu?
