Copying problem in ubuntu

I want to copy a ladspa plug-in but ubuntu won't let me, I know I'm logged in as root, but the problem is "paste" is greyed out and ctrl=v doesn't work....

to be specific :

I want to copy /home/the-szk/desktop/autotalent-0.2_linux32/autotalent.so to /usr/lib/ladspa

but it won't let me....

airplanes, logistic, false chicken could help here....
