So yeah I'm running Firefox 3.6.
I've noticed that on the forums and websites I go to, it remembers my credentials like it should, but
no matter what I am always logged out when I come back. Why doesn't it log me in automatically?
I searched on google and other people had this problem too, and to no avail, no solutions.

I believe the auto login isn't a feature of firefox, it's site dependent. Firefox will remember your username and password, but it doesn't auto login.

Mmm no, the cookies that firefox sets up on your computer always auto-login users.
It's been on previous installments, but apparently there's a bug with the latest version, and it's caused many people
to complain about it. I found a solution, but unfortunately for me it did not work.
The solution was to rename the extension of the cookie file (found in %APPDATA%/Mozilla), it worked for others,
but has yet to work for me. Ugh. I've reinstalled as well, still no luck.

This may seem like a dumb suggestion but this happened to me once only for me to realize later that I had "Remember passwords for sites" unchecked in the "Security" tab in the options.
-EDIT- I should also add that I'm using the same browser and it works fine for me.

go back to 3.5, then check it... if u get auto logged then u know its the browser.. if it doesn't work on that then u know its the site's problem..

Woah, I didn't know you were able to make
helpful troubleshooting posts!?!

But yeah, he's got the right idea. In any sense, you say they are remembered but I take it that you're annoyed that you even have to click the "login" button(s)? If so, I think that's a rather minor thing to be worrying over. It's still a one or two click process with no keyboard use. For me, it doesn't seem like that would be such an issue unless there's something else I'm not understanding.

I think I'll go with DaCoolMan for once and try the 3.5 solution.
Aw man, does anyone have any links to the 3.5 install? The latest is 3.6 so I can't find it.
EDIT: Nevermind got it. Trying it out.
EDIT2: Screw it, doesn't work. I'm switching to chrome.
