Why are the graphics so poor for this game on this "superior" system?

Doesn't look like hair to me, but it does look like a PS2 game trying to put hair on legs. It just ends up looking like dirt.

Uhhh...sigh. Yes, it is dirt? Like, it happens after a while of swinging off dirty hundred year old pillars and swimming in filthy water. It's an advancement in graphics, y'know?
