Backup games not playing so well

Hello all, I've installed the TH softmod and several other apps and emulators with great success. I have burned a few games, but seem to have difficulty playing them. Sometimes they won't load, sometimes they may get to the controller screen and give an error, sometimes I might play the game for a few minutes and then get an error.

I am using a fairly low quality DVD at the moment and have tried different burn speeds, anywhere from 2-16x

I have gotten an error twice during the burn, but normally it appears to burn fine, but I get several errors when trying to play the game.

I am using Imgburner, but also have Nero.

I assume this is media related, considering everything else seems to be working as intended, the Wii has no issues running official games by the way.

I have a 100 stack of Verbatim discs coming in the mail, I read these work well for games.

So, I'd like to ask anyone else that has success in burning games and playing them, what Discs do you use? What burning program do you use? What speed do you write them at and maybe what settings you use?

I'm hoping this may save myself and others from having tons of coasters lying around?

Oh and I don't know if this makes a difference, but I'm using the Wii Gator Gamma Launcher 0.3 IOS249

I downloaded Crash's Wii mod kit V6 Full

Do I possibly need to upgrade anything? Or is it just crappy media?

I think it's all because the low quality DVDs you're using.

I'm using Sony's DVD discs, the software I use to burn them is K3B (I'm on Linux) -I guess you are on a Windows machine so ImgBurner is good for you- and for speed 4x.

You don't need to upgrade your system, maybe when you find a disc with the 002 error you'll have to install the Custom IOS36 rev 08

I use IMGBurn and Verbatim discs. I usually burn 4x or lower and haven't had any problems yet. Let us know the results once you get the Verbatim's!
