Strange DVDX problem

I know I seem to ask a lot of questions here, but as you can tell, I'm not that smart with stuff...

I have firmware 3.3U. I downloaded both versions of DVDX (post 3.4 and previous to 3.4) from http://wiibrew.org/wiki/DVDX
With both, whenever I choose "Normal Install," it says "Error -2011 installing DVD Stub ticket / Error -2011 installing stub" and it doesn't install. What am I doing wrong?

Nevermind, I figured out what I was doing wrong!

But I have another question, which is somewhat related. Is there a media player that can play avi files (or other types) from a DVD? So far, I've only been able to find players that read from SD cards and USB devices.
So far I've just been copying videos from disc to SD card, but that gets pretty annoying after a while. It'd be much more convenient just to load it straight from the disc.

Not that I've seen. I think most people are in the opposite scenario, where they would prefer to just load a movie on an SD/USB drive and have the file play. That way, you save on having to buy discs and the whole burning process.
